Peppol in a nutshell <\/h2>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Peppol<\/b> (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is a secure network that lets businesses send and receive <b>structured e-invoices<\/b> in a standardized format.<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">In Belgium:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Peppol was already <b>mandatory for invoices to public sector clients<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Since January <b>2026<\/b>, it is <b>mandatory for B2B invoicing<\/b> between Belgian companies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Peppol is <b>not an email or a PDF<\/b>, it\u2019s a machine-readable document sent through a certified access point. Using Peppol helps ensure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Legal compliance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Faster processing<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Fewer errors or disputes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"h_a2ab04627c\">2. How to activate Peppol in Accountable<\/h2>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Accountable is a <b>certified Peppol access point<\/b>, which means you can send and receive Peppol invoices directly from the app, without any third-party tools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">However, there are a few steps you need to take:<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">\n<p class=\"no-margin\">You need to <b>verify your identity<\/b> and confirm your company details. Sending imported invoices via Peppol<\/h2>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">If you already have invoices in PDF form, you can also <b>import them<\/b> into Accountable and send them via Peppol. Here\u2019s how it works:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Go to <b>Revenue<\/b> in your Accountable app.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Click <b>Import invoice<\/b> to bring in your own invoice file (PDF).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Fill in the required details (client, amounts, invoice date, etc.), then mark the invoice as <b>&#8220;Not sent\u201d<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">When you are ready, choose <b>\u201cSave and prepare to send\u201d<\/b> and then make sure &#8220;Send the invoice via Peppol&#8221; is selected. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Please ensure your client is registered on the Peppol network, or else the Peppol option won\u2019t work.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">This allows you to continue using your existing invoices, even if they weren\u2019t created within Accountable, while still benefiting from Peppol delivery. <\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">\n<p class=\"no-margin\">More details <a href=\"https:\/\/help.accountable.eu\/en\/articles\/12333143-sending-imported-invoices-via-peppol\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"intercom-content-link\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">\n<h2 id=\"h_aa11042caf\">4. Receiving an invoice via Peppol<\/h2>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Once your business is registered, you can also <b>receive structured e-invoices<\/b> from suppliers that use Peppol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">How it works in Accountable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">The supplier sends the invoice through the Peppol network using your registered enterprise number<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">The invoice arrives directly in Accountable and is added to your expenses.
