Choosing the incorrect company type in your Accountable profile can cause mistakes, especially when submitting your VAT declaration. It\u2019s important to verify your company type and correct it if necessary.<\/h3>\n

    Go to the KBO Public Search<\/a>.<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Enter your VAT number<\/b> in the search bar.<\/h3>\n

  3. \n

    The result will show your company type:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • \n

      Legal person (Rechtspersoon)<\/b> means you have a limited company<\/b> (bv, nv, …).<\/h4>\n

      Can you change your company type in Accountable? \ud83d\udd04<\/h2>\n

      \u26a0\ufe0f If you selected the wrong company type (for example, Limited company instead of Natural person, or vice versa), unfortunately you cannot change this directly<\/b>, neither from your side nor from ours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

      What to do if you selected the wrong company type \ud83d\udee0\ufe0f<\/h2>\n

      1. Export your data:<\/b><\/h3>\n

      Download all relevant data such as revenue and expense invoices.<\/p>\n

      \n

      \n\n\n\n
      \n

      \u26a0\ufe0f Note:<\/b> If you export your 2025 documents while you have 2024 documents linked to Q1 2025, those documents will not be included in the export.<\/p>\n

      \n

      You can only download them when you export the VAT return for that quarter.<\/p>\n

      \n

      The export is done based on the invoice date.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

      2. Delete your current Accountable account:<\/b><\/h3>\n

      This step is necessary because the company type cannot be changed otherwise.<\/p>\n

      3. Create a new Accountable account:<\/b><\/h3>\n

      Register again, but this time select the correct account type<\/b>.<\/p>\n

      4. Import your data into the new account:<\/b><\/h3>\n
