Are you creating invoices with copyright income via Creative Shelter? In this article, we explain how to easily add and encode these invoices in Accountable.<\/p>\n

\n

From the 2026 income year onwards, flat-rate expense deductions on copyright income will no longer be available to everyone. In principle, they will be reserved for people who hold a valid Arts Certificate<\/b> for the relevant activity. If you do not have this attestation, flat-rate expenses can no longer be applied, which may increase the tax due on this income. Accountable has of course been updated accordingly.<\/p>\n

Where and how can I indicate whether or not I hold an Arts Certificate?<\/b><\/h2>\n

You must answer \u201cNo\u201d<\/b> to the question: \u201cAs of 2026, copyright income needs an arts certificate for lump sum deductions. Do you have one?\u201d<\/i><\/b> and then click Save<\/b> to apply the change.<\/p>\n

\u26a0\ufe0f Don\u2019t forget to answer the question: \u201cWhat is the validity period of your Arts Work Attestation?\u201d<\/b> and then click Save<\/b> to apply the change.<\/p>\n

\u27a1\ufe0f Once these steps have been completed, your account will be correctly configured and the flat-rate expenses will be applied or not, depending on your situation.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A. How do you set up the automatic transfer of your Creative Shelter invoices to Accountable? <\/h1>\n

By setting up your Creative Shelter account, your invoices will be automatically added to Accountable in the Revenue section.<\/p>\n

    Log on to Craft (Creative Shelter platform) and go to your account, then click on “Accounting and integrations”.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    In the “E-mail address” section, type revenue@accountable.eu<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    For “Accountable e-mail address”: enter the e-mail address linked to your Accountable account (login address).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Under “Frequency”, enter by invoice or credit note.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \ud83d\udca1 From now on, your Creative Shelter invoices will automatically arrive in your Accountable account as soon as Creative Shelter has approved them and sent them to your customer.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

    B. Finalize the encoding of your invoice<\/h1>\n
    \n\n\n\n

    Creative Shelter creates two invoices:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      One invoice sent to the customer that you will also receive \u2192 not to be encoded in Accountable<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Another invoice that you also receive \u2192 This is the invoice you need to encode in Accountable with “Creative Shelter” as the customer.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

      1\/ You will find the automatically sent invoice in the Income section:<\/h2>\n
      <\/div>\n

      2\/ Check invoice encoding and adapt if necessary <\/h2>\n

      The system will automatically separate the invoice into two items:<\/p>\n

      • \n

        1\u1d49\u02b3 item: sales of services at 21% VAT <\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        <\/div>\n

        \n

        \u2192 When encoding, be sure to check the invoice for the amount, the VAT rate and that these correspond to the invoice.<\/p>\n

        \u2192 The category is “sales of services”.<\/p>\n

        • \n

          2nd Item: Copyright income with 6% VAT<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          \u2192 When encoding, be sure to check the invoice for the amount, the VAT rate and that these correspond to the invoice.<\/p>\n

          \u2192 Category is \u201ccopyright revenue\u201d.<\/p>\n

          C\/ Tax impact <\/h1>\n

          \u2139\ufe0f The amounts shown in Accountable may differ from those reported on your 281.45 tax form.<\/b>
          \u200b<\/p>\n

          This is normal:<\/b> Creative Shelter, who issues this form, assigns each invoice to the fiscal year based on its payment date, whereas Accountable uses the booking date (the invoice date).
          \u200b
          The difference only concerns the year in which the income is recognised, not the total amount.
          \u200b
          \u200bYou should therefore declare the amounts shown on your 281.45 form.<\/b> And no need to worry if there is a difference: any amount not included this year will simply appear on next year’s 281.45 form.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

          In the Taxes screen > In\u00adcome tax sub\u00admis\u00adsion – point 9 “review”, you’ll find the amounts of your invoice which are separated, as there is a sales of service section and another section for copyright revenue:<\/p>\n

            In the screenshot below, you’ll find in purple, the amount of \u20ac552 corresponding to the sale of service in box XVII – 1600 <\/p>\n

            Also in green, you’ll find the copyright income section with :<\/p>\n

            \u2192 in box VII – 1123: the gross amount of copyright revenue<\/p>\n

            \u2192 in box VII – 1124: Ex\u00adpens\u00ades (fixed)<\/p>\n

            \u2192 in box VII – 1119: the amount of withholding tax.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
