The faster you respond, the better your chances of limiting the damage. Follow the steps below.<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<h1 class=\"font-degular\" id=\"h_64730ddbcd\">\ud83d\udd12 Step 1 \u2014 Secure your account immediately<\/h1>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\"><b>Block your card<\/b> if you suspect it has been used fraudulently or if you&#8217;ve entered your card details on a suspicious website. You can do this directly in the Accountable app. (<a href=\"https:\/\/help.accountable.eu\/en\/articles\/10032360-how-can-i-block-the-card-linked-to-my-professional-account\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"intercom-content-link font-inter\">How to block your card<\/a>)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\"><b>Change your passcode<\/b> if you believe someone may have obtained it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\"><b>Do not share any further information<\/b> with the suspected fraudster \u2014 stop all contact immediately.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<h1 class=\"font-degular\" id=\"h_a3a1f6bf8a\">\ud83d\udccb Step 2 \u2014 Gather the details<\/h1>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">Before contacting us, collect as much information as possible about what happened:<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">The date and amount of any suspicious transactions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">Screenshots of suspicious emails, messages, or calls<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">The account number or IBAN the money was sent to (if applicable)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">Any other relevant details about how the fraud occurred<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<h1 class=\"font-degular\" id=\"h_f5eca3dd25\">\ud83d\udce9 Step 3 \u2014 Report it to Accountable<\/h1>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">Contact our support team as soon as possible via the chat in the Accountable app or by email at <a href=\"mailto:support@accountable.eu\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"intercom-content-link font-inter\">support@accountable.eu<\/a>. We will:<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">Investigate the suspicious activity on your account<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">Coordinate with Swan to initiate any possible transaction recall<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">Take further protective measures if needed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<div class=\"intercom-interblocks-table-container\">\n<table role=\"presentation\" style=\"border: 1px solid #c6c9c0;border-radius: 6px;border-collapse: separate;border-spacing: 0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 8px\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\u26a0\ufe0f <b>Important:<\/b> Report fraud as quickly as possible. For payment fraud, time is critical \u2014 the sooner a recall request is submitted, the higher the chance of recovering the funds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<h1 class=\"font-degular\" id=\"h_b9fb8d7e53\">\ud83c\udfdb\ufe0f Step 4 \u2014 File an official report<\/h1>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">In addition to contacting Accountable, we strongly recommend filing an official report with the relevant authorities:<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\"><b>Belgium:<\/b> File a report with the local police or via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.police.be\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"intercom-content-link font-inter\">police.be<\/a>. You can also report online fraud to the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccb.belgium.be\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"intercom-content-link font-inter\">ccb.belgium.be<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-inter\">\n<p class=\"no-margin font-inter\"><b>Germany:<\/b> File a report with your local police station (Polizei).
