A VAT audit follows and you receive a fine. Accountable pays the fine, but you still need to collect the VAT from your client and remit it to the government.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"font-inter text-base text-black\">You <strong>received a purchase invoice without VAT<\/strong>. You thought it was exempt from VAT, but in fact, the reverse charge mechanism applied. An audit follows and you receive a fine. Again, Accountable pays the fine, but you still need to pay the VAT that was due and not declared.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"font-inter text-base text-black\">You didn\u2019t know a <strong>purchase had to be amortised over several years<\/strong>.
