How prepayments work?

The goal of income tax prepayment is to pay 100% of your tax in advance, in order to get a tax bonus (or avoid a penalty, depending on how you look at it).

You can pay gradually in 4 installments of 25%, or make a higher initial prepayment the first quarter.

Prepayments are only optional for the first 3 years of your freelance activity.

How is the amount computed in the app?

By default, the app will suggest a prepayment amount based on the estimated taxable income. This can be done in 2 ways:

  • automated projection based on encoded revenue/expenses in the app

  • you can override this by entering your yearly taxable income manually, like shown below

How to adjust prepayment amounts for one specific quarter?

You can decide at any time to revise the amount of prepayment you make (the app gives you and indicative information only).

In the app, when you mark the prepayment item as 'paid', you can simply input the amount that you have paid to the tax office.

If you didn't make any prepayments, you can enter "0€".
