You already know what the Free plan lets you do in the app. Once you upgrade, quite a bit changes, and almost none of it is locked behind the web version, you can do it all from your phone.
Here's what a paid plan (Invoicing, Bookkeeping, Taxes or Max) actually adds, and how to use it once you're there.
Looking for the same thing but for web too? Check our Guideline for Accountable users. Not sure which plan you actually need? Start with our plan comparison first.
The biggest one first: on Free, you can see your transactions, but you can't really tell how much of that money is actually yours to spend once taxes are set aside. That's what Cash Available fixes.
It takes your balance, subtracts what you'll owe (VAT, social contributions, income tax), and shows you what's really left. Open your Bank screen and it's right there, updating as you go.

Two other things unlock here too. First, more than one bank account, Free and Invoicing only let you connect one, but from Bookkeeping you get up to 5, and up to 10 on Max. Go to Settings → Bank settings → Add new bank account whenever you need another one.

Second, the 5-transaction cap disappears. On Free, only 5 expense transactions a month get fully processed. On any paid plan, every transaction on every account gets matched and counted, no matter how many.
Invoicing itself has always been unlimited, even on Free. What changes is how much your invoices can actually look like you: your own language per client, your own fonts and colours, your own terms and conditions. You'll find these options right where you always create an invoice, there's just more to choose from now.

Two features that get asked about a lot: quotes and recurring invoices.
If you'd rather agree on a price before you start a project, create a quote from the Revenue screen: add your client, your items, your prices, and send it as a PDF. Once your client approves it, open the quote and tap Make it an invoice, no retyping anything.

(Quotes don't touch your taxes or bookkeeping in any way, they're purely a "let's agree first" tool. More on that in this article.)
And if you bill the same client the same amount every month or quarter, stop doing it manually. From the Revenue screen, tap the three dots and choose Schedule a recurring invoice, fill in the client, the price and how often it should repeat, and decide whether it sends itself or waits for your ok first.

You can pause or delete it any time from the Recurrences tab. Full details in this article.
This one's simple: Free stops counting after 5 expenses a month, whether that's a scanned receipt or an imported invoice. On a paid plan, that cap just isn't there anymore. Scan, import, forward, as many as you actually have.
The way you add one doesn't change at all: tap the "+" on the Expenses screen, then Scan, Open gallery, or Import a document, Accountable still reads it and fills in the details for you.

This is where the real value of a paid plan shows up, honestly. You start getting tax-saving tips right where you're already working, while adding an expense, checking your revenue, or looking at your tax settings.
If you're subject to VAT, you can file your VAT return straight from the Taxes tab: make sure your quarter is complete, pass the Tax review, tap Submit to SPF Finances, and pay (or get refunded) with a ready-made QR code. No detour to the tax office's own site. Full walkthrough here.
Your yearly personal income tax return works the same way, prepared and submitted right from the app if you're on Bookkeeping or above. See 🇧🇪 How to submit and pay my yearly income tax for that one.
And if you owe a client listing or an intracommunity listing, both show up on the Taxes screen too, no separate tool needed:
🛡️ One more thing worth knowing: every tax filing you submit through Accountable on a paid plan is guaranteed. If an honest mistake gets you fined, we cover up to €500 (Bookkeeping/Taxes) or up to €10,000 (Max). All the details are in this article. |
Everyone can already export an Excel file and their original documents. Paid plans add a PDF export and an assets/amortisation export too, both from Menu → Export your data.

And then there's the tax coach question, which we get a lot: the AI Tax Advisor is on your Home screen 24/7 on every paid plan, but a real, human tax coach depends on which plan you're on.
You get direct access to a tax coach on Max (including legacy Pro Max and Grow Max), or if you have an Accountable Banking pro account. On Taxes, or on Bookkeeping if you're a franchisee or VAT-exempt, you can still reach a tax coach, just through the AI Tax Advisor first. On Free, Invoicing, or Bookkeeping while subject to VAT, there's no tax coach access built in.
Max also throws in a quarterly video call with your coach and skips you to the front of the support queue. More on that in Benefits of Max.
One last thing: a paid plan also opens up web.accountable.eu, which Free doesn't include. Everything above works exactly the same there, we just kept this article to the app, since that's where most people actually work day to day.

Everything was great! All my questions were answered quickly and in a friendly manner.
In the world where everyone seems to be out to get small entrepreneurs and overwhelm them with new rules, more taxes and reporting obligations, Accountable often feels like the one steady partner that actually wants you to succeed, providing quick, clear and personalised support. Thank you!
This is an amazing application with great support on issues. In short as in day I am addicted to it (in a positive way). I myself is from IT project management and the way they have captured the user requirement, it’s phenomenal.
UI is great. Feature packed and very easy to use. The team at Accountable were VERY quick to respond and their team of technicians soon had a fix in place. Very happy with the level of service so far. Thumbs up from me!
This program is a lifesaver, and it is always improving. Plus, it has an AI chat feature that is actually useful.
The coaching session on tax management was excellent, good material, excellent explanations and very insightful. Combined with the AI I never feel alone with Accountable.
The availability of your team to help and guide people to understand their finances better is what really makes Accountable valuable. While the AI is able to give answers to most basic questions, specific scenarios need counsel from a human which your team performs beautifully.
Fast and careful answers from Alina. Top service. Thank you.
They always answer for questions wherever is via direct e-mail or through app. If they can’t answer fully they will forward you to the right place. Documents were always prepared well and ready to send further to government. Everything is intuitive in the app and easy to sort out even for someone completely green in this field.
