When travelling for work, you often need to stay overnight and Airbnb can be a convenient option. Here is how to deduct the expenses:

Input your VAT-ID into your Airbnb account

The first step is to make sure your VAT-ID is registered in your Airbnb account. This information will be used to make sure any applicable VAT is invoiced correctly. Once your VAT-ID is registered, you will be able to successfully recover applicable VAT.

Encode Expenses for Reimbursement

After you have completed your stay with Airbnb, you will be provided with two documents:

1- a receipt for the stay -> encode only the amount excluding services fees, without VAT

2- a VAT invoice for the services

Encode both documents as an expense in the app to successfully recover applicable VAT.

Additional Travel Expenses

In addition to the cost of your stay, you may also be able to recover other related travel expenses. These may include transportation, meals, Per Diems (a fixed allowance for each day of travel), and more. Visit our detailed guide for more information on travel expenses.
