Who can use Accountable in Belgium?

Accountable is designed for registered Self-Employed in Belgium.

1- Cases covered by Accountable

You can use the app if you are registered as:

✅ A natural person as main activity
✅ A natural person in a complementary activity
✅ A student Self-employed
✅ A one-person company (BV/SRL, or CommV)
✅ A non-profit (VZW/ASBL)

2- Special cases not covered by Accountable

❌ Special tax regimes such as Margin scheme are not supported. Typical use case is car dealers who purchase and resell used cars.

❌ Foreign VAT rates in your sales invoices, OSS and IOSS used to declare VAT collected abroad. Typical use case is e-commerce when you are selling outside of Belgium. Read more in our dedicated article here.

3- Income Tax for Natural Person

For income tax, Accountable prepares the professional part (grid XVII and XVIII) of the income tax declaration that Belgians have to submit yearly.

We strive to serve all self-employed, but some cases are not yet covered.

❌ Excluded cases (you can file the income tax declaration yourself, or with the support of an accountant)

If you make normal sales of goods and services, even if your clients are abroad
Whether you are a commercial enterprise or liberal profession
Whether you received Covid subsidies or not
Whether you receive some income from copyrights or not
Whether you are self-employed as a principal or complementary activity (we only prepare the self-employed part)
Whether you want to use real expenses or flat fee expenses (we'll help you choose)

Income from agricultural activity
Sale of agricultural land
Professional income taxable abroad
Income from "de facto associations"
Income from sports activities or sports coaching if not done as your main profession
Special tax deductions obtained for employment of interns and other workers
Payments to helping spouses
Social debt tax exemptions due to redundancies of workers
Changes in stock of goods for resale
Income tax as owner of a BV/SRL
