In this article, we will guide you through the process of forwarding expenses and invoices directly and automatically from your email inbox to Accountable, simplifying your expense tracking and accounting. You can use this method with various email clients, not just Gmail.
Open the client (e.g. Gmail) that you use for your login email in Accountable.
Click on "Settings" (usually represented as a gear icon).
Look for "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" options.
Add the Accountable forwarding email address:
To import expenses (e.g. online purchases, subscriptions): expenses@accountable.eu
To import revenue (e.g. e-commerce invoices, receipts, etc.): revenue@accountable.eu
Now, your email will need to be verified to make sure emails are forwarded to any of those 2 addresses.
First, forward an expense or revenue document via email.
You will then automatically receive an email asking you to confirm your email address by clicking on a confirmation link.
After confirming your email address, email forwarding will be activated, and forwarded expenses and revenues will be correctly processed and added to your account.
This confirmation step is required to validate your email address and securely activate email forwarding.
Once your expenses or revenues are approved, you can create automatic filters in your email client.
- Click on "Filters and Blocked Addresses" in your settings.
- Create a new filter for expenses or revenues by specifying criteria. For example, for invoices from Uber, you can filter emails with the subject line containing "Uber" and from Uber's email address.
- Choose to forward these filtered emails to your Intercanto email address.
- Save the filter settings.
Now, any email that meets your filter criteria will automatically be forwarded to your Accountable account.
Your expenses and invoices will be managed seamlessly without manual intervention and payments will automatically be matched: this is the value of Accountable.

The coaching session on tax management was excellent, good material, excellent explanations and very insightful…my accountant and tax advisor are good, but never so comprehensive and accurate. Combined with the AI I never feel alone with Accountable

The availability of your team to help and guide people to understand their finances better is what really makes Accountable valuable. While the AI is able to give answer to most of the basic questions, specific scenarios need counsel from a human which your team performs beautifully.
