Are you creating invoices with copyright income via Creative Shelter? In this article, we explain how to easily add and encode these invoices in Accountable.
From the 2026 income year onwards, flat-rate expense deductions on copyright income will no longer be available to everyone. In principle, they will be reserved for people who hold a valid Arts Certificate for the relevant activity. If you do not have this attestation, flat-rate expenses can no longer be applied, which may increase the tax due on this income. Accountable has of course been updated accordingly.
You will find all the information regarding copyright in this article.
🚨🚨🚨 To ensure that the withholding tax is calculated correctly, you must therefore indicate in Accountable whether or not you hold an Arts Certificate. ⚠️ It is therefore essential that you indicate in Accountable whether you are the holder of an Arts Certificate from the web version. |
➡️ You must do this in Settings > Taxes.

You must answer “No” to the question: “As of 2026, copyright income needs an arts certificate for lump sum deductions. Do you have one?” and then click Save to apply the change.

You must answer “Yes” to the question: “As of 2026, copyright income needs an arts certificate for lump sum deductions. Do you have one?"
⚠️ Don’t forget to answer the question: “What is the validity period of your Arts Work Attestation?” and then click Save to apply the change.

➡️ Once these steps have been completed, your account will be correctly configured and the flat-rate expenses will be applied or not, depending on your situation.
By setting up your Creative Shelter account, your invoices will be automatically added to Accountable in the Revenue section.
Log on to Craft (Creative Shelter platform) and go to your account, then click on "Accounting and integrations".
In the "E-mail address" section, type revenue@accountable.eu
For "Accountable e-mail address": enter the e-mail address linked to your Accountable account (login address).
Under "Frequency", enter by invoice or credit note.

💡 From now on, your Creative Shelter invoices will automatically arrive in your Accountable account as soon as Creative Shelter has approved them and sent them to your customer. |
Creative Shelter creates two invoices:
|

The system will automatically separate the invoice into two items:

→ When encoding, be sure to check the invoice for the amount, the VAT rate and that these correspond to the invoice.
→ The category is "sales of services".

→ When encoding, be sure to check the invoice for the amount, the VAT rate and that these correspond to the invoice.
→ Category is “copyright revenue”.
💡 The customer to register / select is Creative Shelter and not your customer. 🚨Please check amounts, VAT rates and income category.🚨 |
ℹ️ The amounts shown in Accountable may differ from those reported on your 281.45 tax form. This is normal: Creative Shelter, who issues this form, assigns each invoice to the fiscal year based on its payment date, whereas Accountable uses the booking date (the invoice date). |
In the Taxes screen > Income tax submission - point 9 "review", you'll find the amounts of your invoice which are separated, as there is a sales of service section and another section for copyright revenue:
In the screenshot below, you'll find in purple, the amount of €552 corresponding to the sale of service in box XVII - 1600
Also in green, you'll find the copyright income section with :
→ in box VII - 1123: the gross amount of copyright revenue
→ in box VII - 1124: Expenses (fixed)
→ in box VII - 1119: the amount of withholding tax.

💡 Accountable separates the two revenue categories (services & copyright). |

Everything was great! All my questions were answered quickly and in a friendly manner.
In the world where everyone seems to be out to get small entrepreneurs and overwhelm them with new rules, more taxes and reporting obligations, Accountable often feels like the one steady partner that actually wants you to succeed, providing quick, clear and personalised support. Thank you!
This is an amazing application with great support on issues. In short as in day I am addicted to it (in a positive way). I myself is from IT project management and the way they have captured the user requirement, it’s phenomenal.
UI is great. Feature packed and very easy to use. The team at Accountable were VERY quick to respond and their team of technicians soon had a fix in place. Very happy with the level of service so far. Thumbs up from me!
This program is a lifesaver, and it is always improving. Plus, it has an AI chat feature that is actually useful.
The coaching session on tax management was excellent, good material, excellent explanations and very insightful. Combined with the AI I never feel alone with Accountable.
The availability of your team to help and guide people to understand their finances better is what really makes Accountable valuable. While the AI is able to give answers to most basic questions, specific scenarios need counsel from a human which your team performs beautifully.
Fast and careful answers from Alina. Top service. Thank you.
They always answer for questions wherever is via direct e-mail or through app. If they can’t answer fully they will forward you to the right place. Documents were always prepared well and ready to send further to government. Everything is intuitive in the app and easy to sort out even for someone completely green in this field.
