Is there a free version of Accountable?

Accountable has a free version: FREE INVOICING.

With this plan, all self-employed individuals in Belgium can send and receive e-invoices for free via our mobile app.

In addition, the free plan also gives you access to the following features:

• Free PEPPOL registration
• Send and receive unlimited e-invoices (incl. self-billing)
• Scan or upload up to 5 other receipts and invoices per month
• Connect one professional account to automatically link your income and expenses
• Access to the mobile app on your smartphone

If you'd like access to all of Accountable's features, you can upgrade to one of our paid subscriptions (see below).

How much does Accountable cost?

Our paid plans give you access to even more powerful features, such as automatic VAT and tax return generation, live chat with our AI Accountant and Tax Coaches, enhanced tax guarantee coverage (up to €10,000), and much more.

Next to the FREE INVOICING plan, you have the choice of four different plans:

1. INVOICING PLUS

Want to use Accountable mainly for (e-)invoicing? Then our INVOICING PLUS plan is for you.

• Personalise your invoices
• Create unlimited quotes, instalment & recurring invoices
• Connect one bank account
• Ask the AI Accountant up to 5 questions per month
• From as little as €1.50/month for freelancers just starting out and €9.90/month for everyone who has been self-employed for more than 1 year

2. ACCOUNTING

With ACCOUNTING you can manage your own bookkeeping, with or without an accountant. This plan is ideal for small sole traders who are VAT-exempt (annual income < €25,000).

• All features from INVOICING PLUS.
• Get full access to all features on the mobile app & web version.
• Connect up to 5 bank accounts.
• Log unlimited expenses.
• Small businesses exempt from VAT (turnover < €25,000) and self-employed individuals exempt from VAT (article 44) also file their personal income tax return and client listing for free with this plan.
• From as little as €11.50/month for starters and €19.90/month for everyone who has been self-employed for more than 1 year.

3. TAXES

Our TAXES plan gives you everything from ACCOUNTING, plus a range of additional benefits:

• File all your VAT returns directly with the FPS Finance from Accountable.
• Intra-community listing and client listing.
• Personal income tax return.
• Tax guarantee up to €500.
• Ask the AI Accountant 50 questions per month.
• Access to Tax Coaches (via chat).
• From as little as €21.50/month for freelancers just starting out and €29.90/month for everyone who has been self-employed for more than 1 year

4. MAX

Our MAX plan means complete peace of mind and expert support.

• Everything from the TAX plan.
• Connect up to 10 bank accounts.
• Tax guarantee up to €10,000.
• Onboarding & quarterly reviews with your personal Tax Coach.
• Ask the AI Accountant unlimited questions.
• The MAX plan costs €51.50 for freelancers just starting out and €59.90 for freelancers who have been self-employed for more than 1 year.

Our MAX plans give you extra peace of mind: you’ll benefit from an increased tax guarantee, unlimited questions to the AI Accountant, direct access to our Tax Coaches, and on-demand support (1-on-1 consultations).

Who is Accountable for?

Accountable provides all the tools you need to manage simplified bookkeeping and file your tax return as a small self-employed professional (natural person/sole trader), whether you're working full-time or part-time (side-hustle).

Student entrepreneurs can also use Accountable with ease and independently.

Does Accountable work for limited companies (BV/SRL)?

If you’re self-employed through a limited company (BV), we recommend using Accountable alongside your accountant.

With Accountable for BVs/SRLs, you can:

• Create, edit, and customise your sales invoices
• Scan and upload receipts and invoices
• Monitor your bookkeeping and cash flow in real time
• Anticipate how much VAT you’ll need to pay

Since running a company requires double-entry accounting (which is not currently supported by the app), you’ll still have to rely on your accountant for:

• Filing your annual accounts
• Optimising your corporate tax strategy
• Submitting your corporate tax return
• Drafting shareholder meeting minutes

Important to know

• Our Tax Coaches are always ready to help you get the most out of the app.

• We also run free weekly webinars for the self-employed covering everything from starting out to filing your first VAT return. Sign up here for free.
• Accountable currently does not offer Shopify integration (or support for other e-commerce platforms) and does not handle foreign VAT returns.

Accountable is the only tax and invoicing software in Belgium that offers a Tax Guarantee.
